Safety and Policies

NNFC Cleanroom is a national facility used by users from academic insitutes, Industries and other stratergic sector. Safety and Cleanroom Policies details the rules of the healthy and safe working of the cleanroom.

Safety in the Cleanroom

Following the cleanroom rules and safety protocols is important for all the users of the facility. Please note that the cleanroom test will have questions from NNFC safety training, cleanroom protocol and contamination protocol along with gowning demonstration present in the cleanroom video and a 100% pass in the safety test is an essential requirement for gaining biometric access to the cleanroom.

Contamination Protocol

In micro and nanofabrication of devices, comtamination play a key role in the device performance. Since NNfC facilities various research activity that requires a different level of contamination tolerances, it is essential for the facility to maintain an acceptable level of contamination in respective tools. At NNfC a strict contamination protocol is followed to help the users to achieve desired device performance.

Tools are classified under four level of contamination and movement between the levels is restricted. A details presentation on the contamination protocol can be found here.
