How to become an user (IISc users only)

  1. Go through the safety, protocol and contamination training presentations and videos at the NNFC website in the links attached to "Safety in the Cleanroom"

  2. Take the cleanroom or NNFC Annexe protocol/safety test as required. Please note the tests for cleanrooom and Annexe are different and if you need access to both the labs, please take both the tests conducted every Wednesdays and Fridays from 4.30 pm to 5.15 pm at TF meeting room, Third floor CeNSE building

  3. Please note, due to social distancing protocols, only 10 students will be allowed to take the test at a time.

  4. Seats for the test will be on first come, first serve basis. Please send an email to nnfc.cense@iisc.ac.in, if you want to take the test.

  5. Confirmation on the availability of a spot will be send by Tuesday (for Wednesday slot)/Thursday (for Friday slot) 5.00pm.

  6. Results will be mailed to the respective users.

  7. Passing the test is mandatory to enter into the cleanroom

  8. For users who pass the test, Orientation ppt is available online at nnfc.cense.iisc.ac.in. Please go through the same before applying for biometric access. 

  9.  Please note NNFC is a paid usage facility. Register in FOM with the right account number (please talk to your supervisor regarding the account number)

  10. Apply for the biometric access to the cleanroom at http://www.bio.cense.iisc.ac.in/office_bio_view.php?id=2754 after downloading  the NNFC User Agreement form (available under NNFC resources on the website), getting it signed by your Guide and submitting it to NNFC office only. Please note without submission of user agreement form, biometric access will not be provided.  For Cleanroom access, request for approval for Rooms "C1 (Cleanroom entry), C2 (Air shower entry) and C3 (Air shower exit). For Annexe access ask for approval for rooms SF-32 and SF-33.

  11. The Biometric access will be given by CeNSE Office (Mr.Nandeesh/Ms.Tulasi B) everyday between 3.00pm and 4pm (ONLY after going through orientation ppt and submission of user agreement).  Please make sure your FOM account is activated by NNFC office when you submit the user agreement. 

Dependent User

  • Everyone applying for tool access in FOM will be given dependent access only.

  • One is allowed to be a dependent user, only if the tool use is limited to max. 2 times.

  • He/She is authorized to book slots during office hours only. Please contact FT 24hr s before booking the slot.

  • Process will be done by the relevant Facility Technologist(FT).

  • No express log on is allowed for dependent users.

  • Sensitive equipments, e.g furnace entertains only allow dependent users.

  • All INUP / external IISc users are dependent users.

 

Independent User

  • To become an independent user please apply for the training. Users can apply for training using the "Tool training request" document present in FOM / User groups

  • Training videos/SOP's are present in the respective user groups or FOM.  Please go through them before appearing for the tool training sessions

  • A confirmation email will be sent to all users who have applied for the training from respective bays.

  • All users must undergo tool training, practice slots and drive-in test to obtain Independent (Anytime) access

  • Independent (Any time access) is provided only if performance is satisfactory during the drive-in test.

  • Training will not include “how to repair”.

  • Slot transfer is not allowed unless approved by FT.

  • Independent access to the tool can be revoked if any unauthorized activity is observed on the tool.
